The courthouse in 1840
Spokes Archive
With its great age and central place in the history of the municipality, Tingstua is a central element of the listed buildings in Gamle-Hokksund and Dynge .
The courthouse has a rich history, with roots dating back to 1839, when the building was first built as a meeting and administration room for the municipality, as well as a courtroom for the County Court. Later, it was also used by Sparebanken Øst in its early years. Today, the building has become an important cultural monument that houses the bank's history, art exhibitions, and meeting rooms with modern facilities. Although the building is primarily used by the bank, there are also plans to open it for local events in collaboration with Nøstetangen Museum, while also offering it for rental to companies and other actors.
