"Moments for a Description of Eker. From the olden days until now. Of a farmer"
N Paulsen 1887
Thollef Schoolmaster must be the Tollef Clausen I find in the 1765 extra tax , as a father in 1767 , betrothed to soldier Mads Syversen Homlebech in April 1770 and as a father again in June 1770. He was married to Anne Lagesdatter and had children Kari, Sara and Claus.
His son Claus also worked in the school and in 1801 lived in Hokksund with his wife Anne Christensdatter, their children Christen, Tollef, Anne Catrine and their unmarried sister Kari (born around 1761). Later they had another child – Karen Kirstine.
His son Claus is mentioned in "Eker -træk av en storbygds saga" p. 433, p. 436 and 437. In 1807 he earned 80 riksdaler and 56 skilling as a teacher in Hokksund. This had already been increased to 300 riksdaler in 1812. He stopped teaching in Hokksund in 1814 and became, with a pension of 75 riksdaler, the first pensioner from Eiker's teaching staff.

A short and simple description of Eker County, about which so little has been reported in the history of ancient times and therefore has nothing else about it, other than what the old people, man after man, have been able to remember to tell, namely about the town's best farm, most distinguished beach places, works and factories, where no verse has been written by me, Thollef Schoolmaster, year 1756.
